BioLaMer project partner from NOVAID, Roshanak Agharafeie, has received the Best Poster Award in Chemical Engineering at the 15th European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE).
Innovative Research at intersection of science and technology
Roshanak’s research entitled “Hybrid Semiparametric Modelling of the Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Extraction Process: Combining PDEs with Machine Learning”, introduces an innovative hybrid approach that merges partial differential equations with machine learning techniques. This integration enhances both the precision and efficiency of modelling supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, a process gaining increasing relevance in chemical engineering and applied biotechnology.

The award, sponsored by the American Chemical Society (ACS), was presented during the congress held in Lisbon from 8th – 10th September 2025🗓️. This event was jointly organized with the 8th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology (ECAB) and the 3rd Iberoamerican Congress on Chemical Engineering (CIBIQ).
Among 700 posters showcased across the three congresses, only three in the ECCE category earned this prestigious recognition, highlighting the exceptional quality and innovation of Roshanak’s work.

Celebrating Innovation and Impact
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Roshanak for this remarkable achievement. Her success not only celebrates individual excellence but also reflects the BioLaMer project’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, fostering innovation, and creating solutions with tangible real-world impact.
