BioLaMer research showcased at the XVII PSICAMB Conference on Environmental Psychology

BioLaMer project partners, Silvia Luis and Samuel Domingos from Universidade Lusófona, HEI-Lab: Digital Human-Environment Interaction Labs, participated in the XVII PSICAMB Conference on Environmental Psychology. This event took place from February 3-6,2025, in Malaga, Spain. Their involvement in this conference aligns with the project’s mission to advance research and innovation in sustainable materials, promote awareness about the greener future.

During the conference, Silvia Luis gave an oral presentation titled “Biopolymer Production: Market Opportunities, Challenges, and Consumer Acceptance”. Her presentation explored and highlighted the complexities involved in biopolymer production, and commercialization of bioplastics that currently hinder large-scale adoption. The recommendations to overcome these problems has also been discussed.

Samuel Domingos has delivered a presentation with the title “Portuguese media representations of sustainable products: The case of bioplastics”. His research findings emphasized the importance of clarifying definitions and debunking common misconceptions consumers have about these products – misconceptions often reinforced by the media.
