BioLaMer project partner TransfoLab BCN, actively contributed to the European Week of Waste Prevention (EWWR) 2025 by participating in an open day on November 27, 2025. This initiative formed part of the project’s mission to demonstrate circular processes to the public, stakeholders, and authorities, while raising awareness about sustainable waste management practices.
Demonstrating the Circular Process in Action
During the open day, the BioLaMer team members Ms Neda Tozija and Ms Nada Tozija presented the bioreactor system and the circular process, to the general public, offering visitors a clear and practical understanding of how organic waste such as food waste can be transformed into valuable bio-based materials. Through direct interaction and guided explanations, attendees were able to explore the practical applications of circular economy principles in real-world scenarios.
Engaging the Public
The event welcomed 20 visitors, creating a focused environment for meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange. This smaller-scale engagement allowed for in-depth conversations, enabling participants to better understand the scientific and environmental significance of the BioLaMer approach.
The impact of the event extended beyond its immediate audience. The open day was selected as a relevant event in the official press release issued by The Catalan Agency for Waste, highlighting its contribution to regional efforts in promoting waste prevention and circular economy practices.
Participation in the European Week of Waste Prevention underscores BioLaMer’s commitment to fostering awareness and encouraging the adoption of sustainable solutions.
