The BioLaMer project, funded by EIC Pathfinder Open is proud to announce its successful participation in the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) Spring Meeting 2025. Held in the historic academic city of Coimbra, Portugal, from 29th to 30th May, the event brought together experts to discuss the intersection of statistics, data science, and industrial application.
BioLaMer Partners from NOVAID FCT represented the BioLaMer project, delivering two significant oral presentations. These contributions highlighted the progress made within Work package 5, which focuses on applying advanced machine learning techniques to biological processes – a core pillar of the BioLaMer research strategy.

- In this session, Monesh Kumar delivered a lecture titled “Physics-Informed Neural Network for Bioprocess Digitalization.” His presentation highlighted a critical comparative analysis between Physics-Informed Neural Network (PINN) modelling and Hybrid Semiparametric approaches for microbial simulation case studies.
- Roshanak Agharafeie presented her work on “Hybrid Semiparametric Modelling of the Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Extraction Process.” Her oral presentation delved into the complexities of Supercritical CO2 extraction process, detailing the use of hybrid semiparametric models to better understand and predict extraction behaviors.
